Top OSs
According to Yankee Group, 43% of US subscribers will opt for a smartphone on their next upgrade. I take all polls with a grain of salt but this one I believe – phones are getting cheaper, data’s getting faster and people simply want and expect more than just a phone now.
Right now smartphones account for only 32 million US subscribers – feature phones make up the other 200 million or so. According to ComScore’s monthly poll of 30 million subscribers, Blackberry is by far the most popular OS BUT they don’t break this down by device let alone specific OS version. So this is lumps in much older models with the Curve, Bold, Storm and Pearl. Don’t even get me started in the archaic versions included in the Windows Mobile bucket.
