Girls, kids and old people like mobile

Nielsen released some very encouraging stats on mobile usage last week – apparently it’s up 34% from last year from 42.5 in July 2008 to 56.9 million in July 2009.

Even more interesting is that fact that a lot of this growth can be attributed to teens (13-17) who’s usage increased 45% and seniors 65+ who [...]

No more watered down web

I just came across this great deck from Razorfish NYC’s John Pettingill. He’s not saying anything too revolutionary – most digital strategy people with experience in mobile will tell you the exact same thing. But it’s one of the best presentations of the “mobile as ambient user experience” mantra that I’ve seen.

Ralph Lauren Mobile

Their mobile app is impressive but m.ralphlauren.com leaves a lot to be desired in terms of UI. Pew Research on Americans and mobile

I think there are real issues with this latest study released by Pew, not the least of which is that the data is from 2007. 2007? But the categories of user they present are really interesting.
